Our story
In the spring of 2024, the Schmalz Family took the opportunity to purchase Sprangers Orchard. Through the past year we have been blessed to learn the ins and outs of caring for and maintaining the orchard from Rodger and Vanice. It truly has been a wonderful experience. We look forward to future plans of combining our orchard and garden center onsite to bring the community a true Garden and Market experience. We are excited to expand the operations here at the orchard including berry picking! Stay tuned for updates and thank you for your patience and grace while we learn more about being orchard owners.

Pick Your Own Apples
Enjoy a relaxing day in our orchard picking fresh, delicious apples. Choose from a variety of crisp, juicy apples, straight from the tree. Perfect for snacking or baking! Afterward, visit our orchard store for locally grown and locally sourced jams, honey, ciders, juices, and more. Enjoy a craft soda or naturally flavored water after enjoying your time in the orchard.
To ensure proper fruit harvesting while minimizing damage to both the tree and fruit, follow these professional guidelines:
01
Gently Lift the fruit:
Support the fruit in the palm of your hand and lift it carefully without applying excessive force.
02
Twist and Detach:
Gently twist the fruit while pulling it away from the branch. If the fruit do not detach easily, it may not be fully ripe.
03
Handle with Care:
After picking, place the apples carefully into a container or basket, ensuring minimal contact to prevent bruising or damage.
